“Mshmosh” dish is one of the recipes of the rich cuisine of Van. The word is originated from the reduction of the word “myshosh” (apricot). There are different types of “mshmosh”, the main component is lentils, which are joined by pumpkin or green beans or beets. However classical “mshmosh” is prepared by lentils, dried apricot and nuts. It is a fasting dish.
Almond or nuts-½ cup

Soak the lentils and leave for 3-4 hours. Then cook until become soft. Chop onions into small pieces and prepare fried onions. Add crushed nuts, onion, washed dried fruit to lentils and mixing cook for 12-15 minutes. Sprinkle pepper and parsley on a ready dish.
