“Spring is a fantastic time to visit Gyumri”, states Forbes.
London, Vancouver, Tbilisi, Gyumri, Mexico and several cities of Morocco, Iceland, Pakistan, US and Peru: 17 cities around the world have recently been assessed as the most beautiful ones in the world to travel in 2020 by the famous business magazine the Forbes. As you have noticed Armenia’s second-largest city, Gyumri is also included in the list.
“With new budget airline routes to Gyumri from Germany and Greece, Armenia’s second city is finally stepping into the spotlight for more than just its association with the 1988 Spitak Earthquake. Spring is a fantastic time to visit Gyumri as the harsh winters subside and flowers saturate the city as it prepares to celebrate Easter with juicy fruits and heaping plates of pilaf. Gyumri is home to hip cafes, several cultural spaces, unique places to stay and Armenia’s most humorous locals”, Forbes announced.
In fact, Gyumri is one of the fascinating cities not only in Armenia but also in the whole world. It is located in the northwestern part of the country. Interestingly, the name of the city was initially Kumayri. However soon it was renamed and became Alexandrapol. During the Soviet period, Vladimir Lenin changed the name of the city to Leninakan. And finally today the city is called Gyumri.
Forbes then continues speaking about Gyumri. The article advises travelers to taste Panrkhash there. It is a dish made from cheese and lavash.
But this is only a small part of what you can enjoy while Gyumri. Once you visit the most cultural city you will wish to come back again and again.
